Reflections from Naples, Florida

As I sit here in Naples, coffee in hand, I’m reflecting on this incredible month. The ups, the downs, and everything in between. From life being taken to life being given. From releasing my memoir and feeling exposed, to celebrating my 60th birthday and feeling deeply grateful.

My heart is full, yet tender aching for the Kirk family and for our country, but also bursting with hope as I watch my new grandson and imagine his beautiful future.

I find myself asking: What has brought me here? Did I really make all these choices, or have I simply been being all along?

I think back to that little 6 year old girl long ago, asking God to help her pin a diaper on her baby sister unaware that one day, she’d be here, reflecting on such a powerful season.

And I wonder about you where are you right now? What did September teach you? What did that younger version of you once ask for help with? Learning a song, a dance, a math problem?

Whatever it was, the lessons still live in you.

As we step into fall with crisp air and quiet change  take a moment to love yourself in the way only you can.

Give yourself grace. And remember: we’re not doing this life we’re simply being in it.

I’m so excited for what’s next.

XO!
